Bucs Crisis? What Crisis? 23/09/04
Orlando Pirates mauling of Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday poured cold water over a media report alleging a rift at the club.

Orlando Pirates 6-0 thrashing of last seasons Castle Premiership runners-up Ajax Cape Town was the perfect riposte to a media report that suggested there was disharmony in the Buccaneers camp.

On Wednesday national weekly Soccer-Laduma ran a report in which they claimed there was a big rift between several key first team players and coach Kosta Papic.

Without naming the players, Soccer-Laduma claim that they have been reliably informed that several senior players are unhappy with the training methods of Papic, with two on the verge of requesting transfers.

There have been several training ground arguments between Papic and some players which has resulted in Papic stamping his authority on the players, claims Soccer-Laduma.

Whatever the relationship between Papic and the players, and despite (or because of) the training methods employed, the Sea Robbers produced arguably their best performance in ten years to rip Ajax to shreds at Ellis Park on Wednesday evening.

Goals by man-of-the-match Benedict Vilakazi, Tyren Arendse, Gift Leremi, Abednigo Netshodwe and a brace by PhumudzoManenzhe condemned the Urban Warriors to the worst defeat in their history.

The result lifted the Soweto glamour club to the top of the Castle Premiership standings.
