Bush Bucks and Jomo Cosmos played out a boring 1-1 draw in a Castle Premiership fixture in windy conditions on Saturday afternoon, at the empty Rand Stadium in Johannesburg.
It was a disappointing affair with the visitors not having a shot at goal for the entire first 45 minutes.
In the first minute of the match, Imbabala captain Tauya Mrewa was impeded by Andrew Rabutla and a Papi Mbele freekick flew just over the bar.
Cosmos knocked the ball around until the fifth minute when Helton "To" Cunha bulldozed the Bush Bucks defence single handedly and put the ball in the back of the net.
In the 15th minute Cunha once again turned the Bucks defence inside out to set-up Russell Mwafulira who over elaborated and had his shot blocked by William Mugeyi.
Innocent Ntsume pounced on the loose ball to shoot goalwards, but goalkeeper Jacob Mokhasi was equal to the task.
Exciting Cosmos striker Chris Katongo missed a few sitters just before the break. In the 40th minute, Murewa breezed past Cosmos' Ryan Hodgskin before delivering a pinpoint pass to Mashiri, but Rabutla react swiftly to thwart the danger. At half-time it was 1-0 to Cosmos.
Bush Bucks looked a better side in the second period when they probed continuously until on the 51st minute when Rabutla fouled Mhlonishwa Mbambo in the box.
Mrewa comfortably converted from the spot to make it 1-1. On the 68th minute, a superb cross from Mrewa saw Mbambo head just over the bar.
Bush Bucks piled pressure on the Cosmos defence, but could not convert the numerous chances they created.
Cosmos substitute Bheki Nkhambule almost handed the home victory with a solo effort, Bucks goalkeeper Mokhasi made a superb save to deny the Cosmos victory.
