Birds face Maulers in Ladysmith 08/10/04
Moroka Swallows and Manning Rangers have shown their commitment to social responsibility by taking part in the Absa Ubuntu Soccer challenge against in Ladysmith on Sunday.

The game, which is to be played between last season's Absa Cup finalists, kicks off at Settlers Park at 15H00 on Sunday.

Birds team manager Bennett Mtshali confirmed that Swallows will be travelling with a close to fully strength squad for the fixture.

"We do have a number of players out though," said Mtshali, "Edzai Kasinayou, Greg Etafia and Bekithemba Ndlovu are away on international duty, while Lungisani Ndleala and Warren Lewis are the only absentees due to injury."

The players kick off their duties on Saturday when they make an appearance at the Murchison Mall (12H00) to sign autographs, meet fans and build awareness for the game.

After this they have lunch with the Major, before visiting the Riga Bros store at 14H30 and then holding a coaching clinic for the Score u/14 team at Settlers Park at 15H30.

On Sunday morning at 9H30 the team will visit the various Steadville Community projects.

The entrance fees for the game are R15 for adults and R5 for children and the proceeds will go to a number of charities, including the Sibusiswe home for abandoned children, the 365 Day project which deals with children infected with HIV/Aids, the Inkanyezi School for learners with special educational needs and the Ladysmith /Emnambithi Beadwork project.
