Moroka Swallows boss Leon Prins says that he feels honoured to have been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Prins was the only new member to be added to the committee, which was chosen in Sandton on Saturday, reflecting the good job he has done at Swallows and the resultant resurgence of the club.
He said that although he had not actively canvassed for the position, he has certainly accepted the nomination and is excited about the post and intends to do his best to help with the smooth and successful running of the league.
The Birds boss also pointed out that his influence on the league's committee would also certainly be of benefit to Swallows.
"I feel very honoured to have been elected to serve on the committee. It is also very good for Swallows - any positive impacts I am able to make on the PSL will also filter down to the club.
"I look forward to making an important contribution to the PSL and believe that my business knowledge and financial skills gained outside of soccer will help me to do a good job."
Asked what his exact role on the committee would be, Prins said that this was still to be decided.
"At this stage it is still early days, the committee is still going to be broken down into sub-committees etc. I am looking forward to it."
