Wits and Celtic share spoils 27/11/04
Wits University and on Bloemfontein Celtic played out to a goalless draw at a rainy Bidvest Stadium on Saturday night.

The game lacked in both in terms of excitement and goal mouth action, although both teams put in committed performances.

Jonathon Solomons was unlucky not to put the home side into the lead when he struck the crossbar early on in the match.

On form Clever Boys midfielder Regan Noble came close to scoring when he missed with a shot from outside the box.

Phunye Sele Sele knocked the ball around and played some good football in the second stanza but were just not able to make their superiority count in the final third of the field.

However, it was Clever Boys midfielder Russell Khuzwayo who nearly broke the deadlock when he beat two defenders before his shot hit the crossbar.

Siyabonga Nkosi may have snatched it for Celtic in the dying stages of the match, but his cracking shot flew just wide of the target.

The result sees the Free State side move up into 10th place, while the Clever Boys are one position higher.
