Under-17 Tournament dates announced 03/12/04
The South African Football Association has announced the dates for the 2004 Coca-Cola Cup Under-17 Challenge.

The tournament will take place in Cape Town from December 6 - 11 at Avonwood Park in Elsies River, announced SAFA national director of competitions Selokela Masetle.

25 SAFA regions and a United Schools Sports Association of South Africa will participate in the tournament.

"Unlike in the previous years, we have decided to divide the 26 participating teams into five groups. In the past we used to have four in each group, this has been done to ensure that players do not play too many games over the six-day period," said Masetle.

"The will be no draw or seeding system to determine which teams compete in the groups, the teams will be divided in alphabetical order. "However, if there are four or five teams from the same province in the same group, they will be split, like in a case where we have Southern Gauteng, Northern Gauteng, Vaal and Eastern Gauteng.

Some of the prominent players who have featured in this competition include Bamuza Sono, Steven Pienaar, Zitha Mofokeng, Andile Cele, Lynch Pule, Shaun Potgieter, Bradley
Carnell, Steve Lekoelea and John Nkambule.
