Late goal seals win for Ajax 04/12/04
Norman Mpeza capped a dream debut for Ajax Cape Town when he scored the winning goal in their Castle Premiership match against Dynamos on Saturday afternoon.

The match, which was rescheduled after the original game was called off due to sub-standard goal posts and field markings, took place at the H.M. Pitje Stadium in Mamelodi.

The Urban Warriors took the lead in the 31st minute when they received a free kick after Wilfred Mugeyi was brought down and Brett Evans stepped up and scored with a well taken free kick.

However, it only took Dynamos four minutes to get back into the game when Saul Mmethi crossed from the left and Vusi Dlamini put the ball past Moeneeb Josephs.

The teams went into the break tied at one goal a piece, which was a fair reflection of the game.

Ajax came out in the second half and played with renewed vigour, dominating for almost the entire second stanza.

In the 52nd minute Brent Carelse has a good opportunity, but shot straight at Dynamos keeper Abram Khwenenyane.

Six minutes later the same player wasted another chance when he fired over the bar.

In the 68th minute Dlamini may have scored his brace, but with only Josephs to beat, he missed the target.

Ajax's dominance finally paid dividends in the 85th minute and Mpeza stepped up to score directly from the free kick, in the process earning maximum points for the Cape team and sending them up to fourth in the PSL rankings.
