Superstars FC aiming to fly high 12/12/04
Superstars Football Club is a community-based team from Umlazi who are aiming to produce not only future soccer stars, but also well rounded individuals who can contribute positively to society.

"I am aiming at promoting and developing young stars in the close knit community of Umlazi," says Mhtobisi Chonco, who founded the KZN club in January this year and is the chairman.

"The ultimate goal is to produce national team and international players."

However, Chonco is very aware of the fact that not all budding young stars will go on to achieve footballing success, and therefore places an emphasis on developing the youngsters in all aspects of life.

"But it's not just about playing football. I want to ensure that a rounded individual is produced who has personal, social, spiritual and academic qualities to match his talents on the ball.

"It is difficult to predict whether a boy will reach the ultimate goal as physical, technical, tactical and psychological, development varies individually.

"However, I can recognise potential and give the boy the best opportunity to develop. The primary goal is to make football fun."

Superstars is affiliated to the Isipingo and district football association and caters for Under 11, 13 and 15 teams.

The club is currently struggling financially and would really appreciate help with regards to buying soccer jerseys, training bibs, soccer boots, balls etc...

Anyone who is able to assist can please contact Mhtobisi Chonco.
