At present it is all systems go for the mouthwatering clash between PSL giants Orlando Pirates and English Premiership side Manchester United.
The game has been in doubt to the busy Premier Soccer League (PSL) schedule at that time.
PSL boss Trevor Phillips is reported to have said that he is unwilling to postpone an official league game for a friendly, however, he did say that Pirates' game against Jomo Cosmos on January 19, could be brought forward to an earlier date in order to accommodate the visit by United, who want the game played on January 18.
Ezenkhosi boss Jomo Sono has indicated that he has no problem with this.
The Red Devils were originally scheduled to play Kaizer Chiefs, however the Soweto Giants were forced to pull out of the match due to their backlog of fixtures.
However, Chiefs are eyeing a possible match against Premiership champions, Arsenal, in the near future.
The Old Trafford club last visited these shores in 1993 when they played Kaizer Chiefs.
Last year Pirates played and beat Tottenham Hotspur in Durban, which lead Spurs to sign Mbulelo Mabizela, and the likes of Bennedict Vilakazi, Gift Leremi and Lebohang Mokoena will be out to make a name for themselves against the 1999 European Champions.
