South African-born striker Katlego Mphela's future with French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg is in jeopardy after the club accused him of ill-discipline.
Strasbourg are unhappy that Mphela failed to return from an unscheduled trip to South Africa and subsequently missed a match against Auxerre on November 19.
Mphela, who was called up by Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter for the Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup against Nigeria, claims that he returned to South Africa for personal reasons, but Strasbourg are not convinced, and look set to terminate Mphela's contract.
The 20-year-old joined Strasbourg from Jomo Cosmos in January. He is on an Elite contract with the French outfit, which means the first year of his deal is as a trainee, with the following three years as a professional.
Mphela has so far played six times for Strasbourg this season.
