Former Bafana Bafana coach Clive Barker has become the Technical Director at Manning Rangers.
Rangers chairman Chico Lazarus made the announcement at a press conference, stating, "Clive will oversee both the development structures of the club and the first team."
He reiterated that head coach Ian Palmer's job was not in jeopardy and was offered a two-year contract extension last week.
"He will work with Palmer but we are not replacing our coach. I have the greatest respect and faith in Palmer," said Lazarus.
"But we believe that he could learn a lot from Barker and the two could form a winning partnership.
"Clive is here to help both the first team and the development coaches. We brought Clive on board due to his knowledge, experience and superb motivational skills."
Barker, who has also attracted the interest of fellow PSL club Santos, will be alongside Palmer on the bench when Rangers take on Wits in a Castle Premiership fixture at the Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday.
