Bloemfontein Celtic moved off the foot of the Castle Premiership League following their 3-1 win over Engen Santos at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Lucas Tlhomelang, Vasili Sofiadelis and Collins Chabalala netted for Celtic, with Carlo Scott scoring the consolation goal for the visitors.
Santos were hoping to continue their climb out of the relegation zone, but Celtic showed the greater desire to win and were also clinical in the finishing in front of goal.
Celtic opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Tlhomelang tapped home following a good cross into the area by Moses Spandeel.
The People's Team showed greater determination in the second half and were duly rewarded when Scott rifled home following a Santos free-kick.
Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, Celtic netted twice in two minutes in injury time to secure the three points when Sofiadelis and Chabalala hit the target.
The result sends Celtic up to seventh spot in PSL, while Santos are in 12th spot, a mere point off the bottom.
