Wits University fought back from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw against Moroka Swallows in a thrilling Premier Soccer League encounter at Milpark on Sunday afternoon.
A loss for either side would have been a major blow to their title chances but, as it was, the one point gained means Orlando Pirates remain favourites after their 1-0 win over Dynamos on Saturday.
Swallow entered the game without inspirational defender Warren Lewis, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after hurting his ankle in training on Wednesday.
However, it hardly seemed to bother them as they quickly rattled up a 2-0 lead.
Lucas Sebona opened the scoring when he headed in a Jabu Mendu freekick, before Keryn Jordan doubled that when he slotted past Wayne Roberts in the Wits goal.
However, Ivan Winstanley gave the Clever Boys some hope when he scored two minutes before the break.
And they completed their comeback nine minutes from time when Manqoba Ngwenya intercepted Gary McNabs pass to put Charles Yohale away to level the scores.
