Defender Jermaine Christian's booking in the game against Wits University on Sunday was his third of the year, meaning he will have to sit out the crucial Premier Soccer League encounter with Dynamos at the Rand Stadium on April 27.
Christian has been one of the most consistent performers this season for Gavin Hunt's men. Only Gary McNab, Warren Lewis and Abram Isaks have played more games for the Birds this campaign.
His one game suspension has come at a difficult time for Hunt, having already lost Warren Lewis with an ankle injury. With a depleted defence, the run-in for the Championship title is looking more and more ominous.
After the Dynamos game at home, Swallows must travel to current Champions Santos in Cape Town. They then face homes games against Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows and are then away at Jomo Cosmos.
The 20-year-old former Amazulu player's other bookings this year came against SuperSport and Orlando Pirates in February.
