New Sponsor Found For Top Eight 22/04/03
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) and South African Airways (SAA) have announced on Tuesday that the national airline has officially become the headline sponsor of the Top Eight Tournament for the next five years. The competition will officially be called The South African Airways Super Eight Soccer Tournament.

The competition will officially be called The South African Airways Super Eight Soccer Tournament.

SAA replace BP as the sponsor of the Top Eight competition, the petroleum company having opted not to renew their long-running contract.

Trevor Phillips, CEO of the PSL, is delighted that SAA, after its long association of over 8 years as the official airline of the Premier Soccer League, has decided to take soccer to a new altitude.

The Sky is the Limit with the Super Eight Soccer Tournament and South African Airways. The involvement of South Africas national airline will inject new life into the sport of soccer and is a perfect fit for the PSLs new vision of delivering quality entertainment in a safe and secure environment," Phillips said.

Mr Andre Viljoen, the President and CEO of South African Airways, concurred and says the company will sponsor the competition for at least the next five years.

Our commitment to the Super 8 Soccer Tournament is for an initial five year period, and even though we have been the official airline of the Premier Soccer League for the last eight years, we are delighted to have the opportunity of participating in this prestigious tournament as the official sponsor." he said.

Round 1 - 9th/10th August 2003
Round 2 - 16th/17th August 2003
Semis - 30th/31st August 2003
