Orlando Pirates moved a step closer to the PSL title with a 4-0 hammering of Bush Bucks at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.
Chief striker Lesley Manyathela grabbed a brace to tighten Pirates grip on the match after Hleza Mofedi had given the Buccaneers a 36th minute lead.
Bucks defender Marvin Klaasen then turned Makhosonke Bhengus effort into his own net on the stroke of full time to crown a miserable afternoon for Trott Molotos side.
The encounter featuring two teams with contrasting fortunes - one going to for title and the other trying to stave off relegation - was always going to dish out a feast for the eyes.
In the end it was Bush Bucks who were ruthlessly put to the sword and nudged deeper into the relegation mire.
The defeat leaves Bush Bucks staring down the barrel, especially with other fellow strugglers Hellenic, Ajax Cape Town and Black Leopards having chalked up relief-bringing wins.
The result leaves Pirates four points clear at the top of the table and establishes them as firm favourites to land the crown after second-placed Wits Universitys came unstuck against Black Leopards.
Pirates even have a games in hand over the Clever Boys including a meeting between the two sides and a tricky outing next week against third-placed Golden Arrows.
