Rumours abound that midfielder Jabulani Mendu, one of the stars of Moroka Swallows' successful Premier Soccer League campaign, has moved on to Kaizer Chiefs after agreeing a contract with the Amakhosi. But this is something the club have moved quickly to deny.....
There has been speculation in the press for a while that Mendu, who was rewarded for his superb season with a first Bafana Bafana cap against England last week, will be leaving the Beautiful Birds.
Hellenic, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns were all mentioned as possible targets, but it seems as though Doctor Khumalo's Chiefs have become favourites to land his signature.
However team manager Bennet Mtshali has moved quickly to deny the player had already signed a deal with the Amakhosi.
"It is the same as Lucas Sebona, just because he and Mendu are out of contract, people think they are moving on," Mtshali told Morokaswallows.co.za.
"This is not the case at all. We still have to sit down with the players and discuss their contracts," he added.
