Kaizer Chiefs Wont Face Spurs 10/07/03
Kaizer Chiefs have withdrawn from playing against English giants Tottenham Hotspur in a friendly match organised by the Bid Committee.

The Amakhosi were scheduled to take on Glenn Hoddles men in a match in Cape Town at the end of the month, but a hectic schedule has forced them to miss out on the glorious opportunity.

They left for the World Peace Cup in Korea on Thursday and, with them expected to take pat in the Charity Cup four days later, the demands on the players would just have been too much.

Managing director Kaizer Motaung confirmed as much in a letter to Bid Committee chairman Danny Jordaan.

After consultation with our technical staff it was decided that our team should not participate in the above match as agreed with you, t read.

Our trip to South Korea will really be taxing on the team. This is coupled with our tight domestic programme shortly after our return.

A replacement for Chiefs is yet to be confirmed.
