Birds To Take On Brazilians 22/07/03
Moroka Swallows will play Sundowns in a friendly match at the Rand Stadium on Sunday the July 27. Entrance is FREE to all, so be sure to head down to the stadium next week to see two of South Africa's top clubs battle it out.

This match promises to be a cracking affair as both teams are highly ambitious and have shown their intentions for next season by signing a number of high profile players.

Swallows have strengthened their squad in all departments as they look to make an all out assault on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) this season after coming so close to winning the league title last time round.

The Birds are looking a very formidable side indeed, especially in the striking department where they have recently acquired the services of proven goal scorers Dennis Lota and Shaun Permall. This is in addition to top marksman Keryn Jordan, who they signed from Manning Rangers near the end of last season.

With other goal scorers like Lucas Sebona and Marc Batchelor around, the Birds faithful can look forward to a season full of goals and exciting soccer.

The Swallows management have added depth to the midfield and defence as well, with the signings of George Hummel, Albert Kometsi (both Hellenic) and Rufus Makoti (Supersport).

Sundowns have also been busy in the transfer market, with their two most prominent signings of late being Bafana Bafana stars Andre Arendse and Clement Mazibuko.

The Brazilians are also in the process of rebuilding their squad to challenge for higher honours since new owner Patrice Motsepe took over the reigns, and he is attempting to help the Pretoria club recapture their glory days of the late 90''s.

With both teams currently on the rise in South African soccer, this match promises to be full of goals, action and drama, so make sure that you are there to witness this spectacle and show your loyal support for the MIGHTY BIRDS!
