The Moroka Swallows management look set to boost their already impressive squad with the acquisition of Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mazibuko.
The Beautiful Birds will be hoping that Mazibuko will be able to join the team for their final pre-season matches which are taking place in the Limpopo province this weekend.
The squad leaves on Friday for a weekend away, which will see them facing fellow Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaigners Dynamos and Black Leopards.
Mazibuko, who was one of the players that former Free State Stars coach Roy Baretto brought with him to Pirates, struggled to earn himself a permanent place in the Buccaneers midfield last season due to the abundance of midfield players at the club.
Although he was often forced to play out of position on the left hand side, rather than his more natural centre-mid role, Mazibuko still managed to impress the national selectors enough to earn himself three Bafana Bafana caps.
Mazibuko would be able offer the team some much needed steel in the centre of the park, as well as adding some attacking options going forward with his strong running abilities.
The signing of the former Free State Stars man would give coach Gavin Hunt some exciting midfield options with the likes of Albert Kometsi, Peter Rabolele, Dennis Lota and possibly Ernest Chiwali (yet to sign a contract) all in the mix.
With these sort of combinations available to the coach, the loss of Jabu Mendu would become far less significant.
After the recent signings of Shaun Permall, Lota, Kometsi and Keryn Jordan, Mazibuko could well prove to be the last piece in the puzzle for Hunt as he looks to assemble a team capable of challenging for title honours.
