Rating The Glovemen... 16/09/03
Last week we ran a poll on this website, asking readers who they thought was the best goalkeeper currently playing in the Castle Premiership.

Not surprisingly perhaps, 45% of readers voted for Kaizer Chiefs star Brian Baloyi, who has also been captain of Bafana Bafana in the past 12 months. Baloyi is a seasoned professional, who's stock has fallen slightly recently after a number of uncharacteristically shaky display's for both the Amakhosi and the national side.

The pretender to Baloyi's throne is young Ajax Cape Town keeper Moeneeb Josephs, who won 27% of the vote. Josephs has been in sparkling form the Urban Warriors, who now find themselves on top of the Castle Premiership with three wins from three.

In third place in our poll was Swallows' Nigerian star Greg Etafia with 11% of the vote. Etafia was magnificent in helping the Birds to the SAA Supa 8 final recently, when he saved a last-minute penalty in injury time against Wits University. The youngster went on to save two more in the penalty shoot-out to put his side through.

Veteran Bafana goalkeeper Andre Arendse, who recently joined Sundowns, received 9% of your vote, while Chad Harpur (Manning Rangers) and Wayne Roberts (Wits University) both polled 3%.

Calvin Marlin of SuperSport United came last with just 2% of the vote.
