Swallows U-13's Going To Liverpool 29/09/03
The Moroka Swallows U-13 Development team, who have just convincingly secured the Gauteng East Central District Junior Football Association league title, will be travelling to England next season to play in the Knowsley Liverpool Youth Tournament.

The team, who were officially the Germiston City U-12 team, were taken under the wing of the Moroka Swallows youth development and given the awesome task of competing in the Gauteng East Central District Junior Football league for 2003.

They won 14 of their 16 games, drew 1 and only tasted defeat on one occasion. In the process they scored 87 goals, while only conceding 11.

The youngsters also won the Knockout Cup when they beat Alberton on September 14, which means that the U-13's have now won the double for two consecutive years!

The same team will be competing in the U-13 league again next year, although it is likely that they will be moving into the more competitive Southern Gauteng SAFA league, where they will come up against Academy teams from the likes of Orlando Pirates, Cosmos, Wits, SuperSport, Cosmos and Tuks.

The boys are now set to compete in the Knowsley Liverpool Youth Tournament next July, which will involve teams from around the world.

The teams will arrive on Monday 28 July and will be greeted by the Lord Mayor of the City of Liverpool.

Apart from the actual matches, various sightseeing tours and entertainment.

There will be 16 teams in each age group, and all clubs will be guaranteed a minimum of three matches (27, 28 and 29 July).

The finals will be held on Sunday August 3.
