PSL Launch New Magazine 14/10/03
The Premier Soccer League have just launched a new magazine that aims to bring fans of South African domestic soccer the best in coverage of all the drama of the local game...

"Communication, information, explanations ... they are the lifeblood of any organisation." - Trevor Phillips, PSL CEO.

Fans are what make football, and the PSL is a firm believer in keeping the 'paying customers' informed on what is happening in the local League.

The League's latest venture, the PSL Update magazine, aims to bring fans closer to what goes on behind the scenes in running the business of football, as well as providing news on stars, coaches and clubs.

PSL Update's aim is provide the answers the fans demand: How ticket prices are determined? How are cup final venues decided? Who is in charge of what?

As Trevor Phillips says, "The fan must be able to feel part of the process, to be able to get a better understanding."

But there is also place for the 'real' side of football, and players, coaches and clubs will receive pride of place in the PSL Update.

Produced in partnership with Touchline Media, PSL Update is a 24-page A5 booklet, which will be published every two months, and inserted in KICK OFF magazine.

In addition, there will be quarterly 40-page A4 PSL Super Stars magazines, featuring the League's hottest performers and stars, which will be sold on the newsstand.

There will also be an A6-sized Introducing the PSL mini-guide, which will include information on all 16 teams, including statistics, club information and contact numbers, directions to the grounds, as well as all the fixtures for the season. This will be released as an insert in KICK OFF magazine.

The PSL will also keep the football-loving public informed of the latest developments via a monthly full-page feature in KICK OFF, called PSL News.

The new publications will be promoted on SABC sports channels, in the daily press, and on radio.

PSL Update, Super Stars, Introducing the PSL and PSL News will ensure that the League will continue to keep South Africa soccer fans well informed, and will give them a product to be proud of.
