Moroka Swallows host defending Castle Premiership champions Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night in what promises to be an exciting encounter at the FNB Stadium.
On paper there is little to separate the teams, however Swallows may have an advantage over their illustrious rivals as Augusto Palacious has just taken over the reigns as the Bucs head coach.
Gavin Hunt took his team to fourth place last year and is looking to improve on that finish by winning the league.
Pirates may have won the championship last year but have looked a shadow of their former selves and the team seems to be in even more disarray since the departure of Roy Barreto to Manning Rangers.
The Dube Birds were knocked out of the Coke Cup by rookies Silver Stars recently and the Bucs were ousted by Manning Rangers.
Both teams focus can now shift to the Castle Premiership as the next round of cup games, the Absa Cup, only starts in March 2004.
Swallows: Etafia, Petersen, Mcnab, Lewis, Christian, Sebona, Rabolele, Hummel, Kasinauyo, Kometsi, Permall
Pirates: Radebe, Tau, Khomane, Twala, Lekoelea, Phakathi, Tshabalala, Twala, Makhanya, Kauleza, Mokoena
Players To Watch:
Swallows: Gary McNab's captaincy has led his team to a SAA Supa 8 final and the inspirational skipper will do well to motivate the team for their league encounter against the reigning champions.
Pirates: Joseph Makhanya's free role in the Pirates midfield against Santos inspired them to fight back from a two goal deficit. Duku-Duku's skill and free running of the ball runs are attributes of this diminutive midfielder.
