Moroka Swallows were beaten 1-0 by Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium in a Castle Premiership match on Wednesday afternoon.
Both teams were guilty of missed chances in the first half and they went into the break with the game still scoreless.
The only goal of the game came in the 78th minute when Jimmy Kauleza scored after receiving a cross from Lebohang Mokoena.
The goal will certainly do wonders for Kauleza, who has been struggling to win over the Buccaneers faithful since his move from Free State Stars, as he has now scored in his last two outings in the black and white of Pirates.
Young 17-year old Mokoena made a good impression when he came on against Santos in the 2-2 draw on Saturday, and would no doubt have been delighted with his goal assist for Kauleza today.
The Bird's team manager, Bennet Mtshali, felt that the game was lost in the midfield, especially after Swallows lost the services of Peter Rabolele after the hard working midfielder received a nasty cut to the face in the second half.
The result sees Swallows drop one position to fifth place, although they are still very much in the chasing pack for league honours.
Pirates moved up to sixth position and seem to be slowly gaining momentum after a slow start to the season.
The Mighty Birds' next game is on Sunday afternoon against Black Leopards at the Rand Stadium, while Pirates face Sundowns on Saturday.
