Birds thrash Matsatsantsa 01/02/04
The long break Moroka Swallows have had from Castle Premiership football seems to have worked to their favour as they came out and thrashed SuperSport United 4-1 at the Loftus Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday afternoon.

The men to get the goals which helped the Birds leapfrog two positions up the table into fourth place were Dennis Lota (2), Lungisani Ndlela and Samuel Ngobeni.

SuperSport's solitary reply came via the boot of Aubin Takutchie in the 55th minute.

The Mighty Birds dominated play for most of the game and could actually have won by an even bigger margin had they taken more of their chances.

This would not, however, have bothered coach Gavin Hunt too much as the victory was vital in ensuring that his team keeps pace with the likes of Ajax, Santos and Kaizer Chiefs at the top of the table.

Moroka Swallows' next game is on February 7, when they square up to the Mighty Maulers at the Rand Stadium.
