Mazibuko confident of Cape win 08/09/04
Moroka Swallows captain Clement Mazibuko is confident that the in-form Dube Birds will be victorious against Santos at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday night.

"Every player in the squad is looking forward to this encounter, Santos have a debt to pay. We are going to force them to pay for the way they beat us last season. They beat us 5-1 at the same Stadium and tonight is Swallows' victory night," said Mazibuko.

The Beautiful Birds kicked off their Castle Premiership League season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Ajax Cape  Town and followed that win with a good performance against the big spending Sundowns whom they held to 1-1 in their own backyard.

Mazibuko is so confident of his charges for tonight's match, revealing that the players are brimming with confidence.

"We have the players who want to win and they are confident about their play," Mazibuko confessed.

He also said that the new players who joined the Birds have settled in very well with the rest of the team and the mood in the camp is high.

"The match against the 'People's Team' is an important one for the Birds, because if we don't bury Santos once and for all, that will haunt us for the rest of the season. We are trying to finish the league much higher than last season," said the Swallows skipper.

He warned Santos that they should be prepared for the lethal strikes from the nearly 2-meters tall striker Lungisani Ndlela and the rocket-like shots from winger Edzai Kasinauyo.

"As the captain of Swallows, I want to warn Santos that their victory last season will not happen tonight, Ndlela and Kasinauyo are ready to do what they did not do the last time around at Athlone Stadium and so is every player in the side," promised Mazibuko.
