Moroka Swallows midfielder Alfred Phiri insists there is no chance of his team bowing out of the lucrative Absa Cup against rivals Ajax Cape Town at the Rand Stadium this weekend.
The two teams square off in the last 32 on Saturday, with the former Bafana Bafana star confident the Dube Birds can maintain their 100% record against the Urban Warriors this season.
The defending champions have already beaten Gordon Igesund's team twice in the Premier Soccer League, as well in the SAASupa 8 competition.
Phiri admits his former team are on a high after back-to-back wins, but insists there is no chance of them making it three on the trot at the Rand Stadium.
"They are on top of their game right now after wins against Golden Arrows and Santos, but they are as good as out in the ABSA Cup before even kicking a ball," Phiri confidently told this website.
"We have beaten Ajax three times this season and want to make it four. We are the current champions of this tournament and we intend to keep the Cup."
Phiri knows he will be singled out for special attention by his former team-mates.
He added: I know that the Ajax players will try and mark me out of the game and I can tell you that it is going to be tough in the middle of the park, but we have deadly wings who will do the job for us.
