Permall eager to get back in the action 07/03/05
Moroka Swallows striker Shaun Permall is back in training and is hoping to be fit for the Birds' next Castle Premiership game in two weeks time.

The former Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs striker returned to training for the first time today, and said that it felt good to be back at work.

He has been out of action for six weeks, during which time he underwent shock therapy on his knee. The Cape Town born marksman was only expected back at the end of the month, but has returned earlier than first anticipated.

"Its been frustrating watching my team-mates play every week and not being able to contribute on the field," said Permall.

The Dube Birds next league game is against Manning Rangers on March 19 at the Rand Stadium and Permall hopes to return by then.

Ironically, Swallows also face the Mighty Maulers in an Absa Cup last 16 game on Wednesday night, a match which is a repeat of last season's final, which Swallows won 3-1.

Permall, will not however, be ready for this match, but he is expecting his team-mates to come away with a positive result on Wednesday in Chatsworth.

"We will win," he boldly stated. "The guys are looking confident at training. Rangers may be on a high after they beat Sundowns on the weekend, but we will bring them back down to earth!"
