Metropolitan Cup Draw Announced 12/03/05
The Moroka Swallows u-19 players are eagerly looking forward to the Metropolitan Cup, which takes place in Cape Town from 23-28 March, and showcases some of the best young talent in the country.

The draw was recently announced and the junior Birds find themselves in a relatively tough group - they will be up against another Castle Premiership junior outfit - Santos, as well as Vasco da Gama, whose first team play in the Mvela Golden League. The final side to make up Group H are YMO St Lukes, an amateur club from Cape Town.

The Swallows matches are scheduled as follows:

Thursday 24 March : 17h30 : Swallows vs Santos

Friday 25 March : 18h00 : Swallows vs Vasco da Gama

Saturday 26 March : 11h30 : Swallows vs YMO St Lukes

The quarterfinals take place later on Saturday, the semi-finals are on Sunday, and the various finals are on Monday, with the final prize giving at 16H45.

This is the second time that Swallows will be taking part in this prestigious tournament - last season they lost in the quarterfinals to Ajax Cape Town.

The team is coached by former Dube Birds legend Ace Mnini, assisted by Andries Mpondo.
