Moroka Swallows midfielder Alfred Phiri is back with his latest column, in which he explains how upset the players were at the weekend's loss to Bush Bucks.
I am heart broken as I write my column this week due to the fact that we lost on Saturday.
Before I give you a break-down of the game I would like to thank the people who organised the entertainment on Saturday. Attie, Michelle, Matthew and Nelson, you guyz did a spectacular job.
We camped on Friday thanks to the Birchwood Hotel.
Saturday the 09th April 2005. The day started with a curtain raiser where our Swallows Under 19 played against the CIDA University team and we won 3 - 2. Well done Boyz, then there was music and dancing to prepare for the main game.
At 15:15 the game kicked off and Bush Bucks was in great form as they were fighting to save themselves from relegation, and I am just going to tell the truth, we went in there with the thought that we have never been beaten at Rand Stadium - and that Bush Bucks was going to be a walk in the park, Mmmmm little did we know.
That a desperate man does everything in his power to protect whats his. In the first half I will say big-up to our goal keeper Greg. You did marvellous saving some of those goals, but unfortunately when we went to half time it was 1 - 0. Bucks were leading.
We came back and the Coach substituted Dennis Lota with Alois Ngwerume and at the 54th minute, Ngwerume landed us an equalising goal - Hola Boy!
Then Bucks decided that they were not going out like that and scored another goal at the 80th minute - well what can we say... you know by now we are desperate for a goal. Shaun then got hold of the ball, sent it to the poles and Cecil got it right in there on the 83rd minute.
By now its a do or die situation and a minute before full time Bucks landed themselves a goal... We tried our best, but there was no way we could have gotten a goal after that.
Its sad to see a record that has been worked for long and hard broken by a team that is in danger of being relegated.. My God... siya xolisa maswaiswai.
Any how its one of those things that just happen... We are still shocked but Hey!! We just have to pick up our jaws and work harder.
Bucks you may have won this battle... But the war aint over, when we meet again Its on.
Thank you all for your support and the attendance at the game was spectacular, its always great to hear ama-vuvuzela le dipina ko Stadium.
Re a leboha, Thank you and baie dankie
From me Alfred waga Phiri
