SuperSport U19 Cup draw made 27/07/05
The eagerly-awaited draw for the SuperSport Under-19 Cup, to be held at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on August 6 - 9, was held at the SuperSport studios on Tuesday.

The tournament will feature the Academy teams of six of South Africa's top seven Premier Soccer League Clubs. The competing teams are Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Sundowns, Supersport United, Moroka Swallows, Silver Stars and Jomo Cosmos. The 8th team will be an Invitation XI from Soweto, which will qualify via a play-off process between the different Soweto associations.

The winners of this prestigious event will represent South Africa at a leading youth tournament in Europe, a platform which may lead to a dream contract for one of the players at a top club in Europe.

Pool A saw Orlando Pirates pitted against Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Silver Stars, while Jomo Cosmos, Moroka Swallows, Kaizer Chiefs and a Soweto Select XI will contest Pool B.

Attending the draw were Ace Khuze (Kaizer Chiefs); Augusta Palacios (Orlando Pirates); Neil Tovey (Mamelodi Sundowns); Ricardo Katza (SuperSport United); Goodman Mazibuko (Moroka Swallows); Thierry Mulodze (Silver Stars FC); Phil Mogodi (SAFA Soweto) and Shardi Avnit (Event Manager).
The final day of the tournament promises to be an action-packed event for the whole family to enjoy at Orlando Stadium.

In addition to the young stars displaying their skills, there will also be a Womans Day celebrity ladies match featuring many Banyana Banyana players and a Masters game featuring the SuperSport Broadcast Team - with players like Doc Khumalo, Marc Batchelor, Idah Peterside and Neil Tovey - against a Masters Invitation team featuring, among others, John Moeti, Tommy Madigage and others.
