VWSA welcome the 'Birds'

Volkswagen South Africa (VWSA), the makers of People's Cars, have expressed their gratitude at the visit paid by Moroka Swallows to the Nelson Mandela Metro this week, according to a statement released to the club's official website.

The statement reads as follows: "On behalf of Volkswagen of South Africa (VWSA), we would like to welcome the only Volkswagen-sponsored PSL soccer side - the 'Beautiful Birds' - to the Nelson Mandela Metro.

"We are proud to say that Moroka Swallows and Volkswagen have, in a very short space of time, built a very successful and productive partnership.

"The squad finished in fourth place at the end of the tough 2005/06 PSL Castle Premiership season.

"We wish you every success in the forthcoming season.

"We congratulate them on an outstanding performance."

As part of their pre-season training and build-up, the 'Beautiful Birds' have agreed to visit the Metro to share some of their skills and expertise with not only Volkswagen's Bay United side, but also with the youth of the Metro.

The Johannesburg-based side will be conducting their pre-season training, as well as undertaking a number of Social Responsibility activities in the Greater Nelson Mandela Metropole area, between Wednesday, July 5 and Monday, July 10.
