Dr E welcomes Japhet Borges

"Coaches can't do everything; they can't be expected to perform medical responsibilities, you need someone that will focus on the fitness of the players," Nematswerani told the official Swallows website.

He added: "Some people have the misconception that physiotherapists and physical trainers perform the same function. Sport medicine is a diverse field and needs a team approach and no role is lesser than the other.

"Physical trainers have the scientific knowledge and know the latest trends to warm up and to cool players down. They are also able to address the misunderstandings surrounding static training and dynamic training.

"Having a physical trainer will make sure there are no comments like 'I found an unfit team' simply because coaches are not physical trainers."

Nematswerani's views were echoed by Borges, who said: "The development of physical preparation in the soccer environment requires careful observation of athletes as each athlete will work individually, with the objective of a homogeneous outlook, using modern and scientific methods of evaluation and physical,"

Borges, who turned 50 on Tuesday, graduated at University Scale Son in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has extensive experience.
