Young 'Birds' fly to Cape Town

Moroka Swallows' Under-17 squad will fly to Cape Town on Tuesday afternoon to take part in the prestigious annual Bayhill Cup tournament which starts on Thursday, April 5.

The team has been drawn into a difficult group; including SuperSport United, Old Mutual Academy and Cultural Roots FC, but Swallows Head of Development Paul Habib is confident that his young guns will do well in the tournament.

"We are taking a very talented squad and we are optimistic about our chances of lifting the trophy," Habib told the Swallows website. "We are aiming for the semi-finals, but once we get there we will surely go all the way."

Habib urged all Cape Town-based Swallows supporters to come down and support the 'Beautiful Birds' of the future.

Meanwhile, Swallows' Reserves will take on BidVest Wits University's Reserve team in Linksfield today (Monday) at 7pm.

Bevan is staying in the nest! Your views?

Great news - we can continue to build around him!
Wonderful, but there is too much pressure on him.
It doesn't matter, as I was already resigned to losing him...
