'Birds' youngsters lose in Youth Cup

Moroka Swallows did not make the best of starts to their 2007 SuperSport U19 Youth Cup campaign, with the 'Birds' youngsters losing both of their matches on the opening day of the highly-rated development tournament.

The 'Birds' youngsters opened their campaign against Nigerian powerhouse Enyimba and lost 0-2, before they took on Jomo Cosmos, going down just 0-1.

Swallows Head of Development Paul Habib told "The Enyimba boys were better organised than us and we simply did not match them on the day and we lost.

"We did considerably better in the second match, but a temporary loss of concentration saw them catch us on a counter and we never recovered.

"We need to win both of our matches tomorrow so that we can make a strong campaign for a qualifying spot for the next round."

Bevan is staying in the nest! Your views?

Great news - we can continue to build around him!
Wonderful, but there is too much pressure on him.
It doesn't matter, as I was already resigned to losing him...
