Swallows Ladies drop three points
Wednesday February 01 2006
Moroka Swallows' Ladies team lost out on three points in controversial fashion over the weekend.
Swallows' match against Kathorus Ladies, who are currently last on the standings, was due to kick off at 13:30, but the match before did not finish on time, with the referees appointed for the match taking it upon themselves to give Kathorus Ladies the points, due to it being a home game for Moroka Swallows.
A Swallows spokesperson said: "We find this decision diabolical to say the least as on numerous occasions Moroka Swallows have had away games where they have had to wait two to three hours to play and even on one occasion we had to move to another ground which then delayed the game by three hours and still played the match without the points just been awarded to us.
"We have sent a letter to Mr Zach Masetle, from SAFA, asking for clarification."
Before this 'match', Swallows' ladies had won all their matches this season, making them the undoubted favourites to walk away with the 2005/06 title.
