Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund admits that he was left disappointed following their 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in the opening game of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The South Africans struggled to create chances throughout the game and although Igesund feels they were slightly better in the second-half, he admits that they were still not good enough.
"I am very disappointed with the first half – a lot of the players didn't come to the party," he said.
"The first half, for me, was a waste of 45 minutes. The second half was better, we got our foot on the ball and passed it a lot better, but it was still not very good.
"The midfield was lacking and we never created enough opportunities in front of goal.
"The guys looked like they were panicking. We need to be a lot more patient.
"The guys were very, very nervous today. I have never seen them like this since I have had them. We have to go for it now against Angola.
"Today I wanted to be very offensive, I wanted to take the game to them, but some of the players didn't rise to the occasion."
