The Birds Safety and Security/ logistics manager Eddie Caluza has stressed the importance of following the correct procedure when attending the Original Soweto Derby at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday night.
Moroka Swallows are set to host archrivals Orlando Pirates at the Nest and a large number of supporters are expected for this crucial Absa Premiership encounter.
Because the match is being played on an uncustomary weekday, fans have been requested to assist the Birds administration by following the correct guidelines for the evening's proceedings to run smoothly.
"We request that fans buy their tickets at the pre-sold stations, in this case Computicket /Shoprite/ Checkers and at Kopanong Community Hall in Dobsonville," Caluza stressed in a match update with morokaswallows.co.za.
"Gates will be open at 5pm, so it is also just as important that fans arrive early for the match, take their places and enjoy the evenings proceedings in our beautiful Nest."
There has been confusion pertaining to parking around the stadium, with unofficial guards giving out the incorrect information to attending fans.
Caluza has explained that the rugby and soccer fields around the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium are the designated parking areas and nowhere else.
"The soccer and rugby fields around the stadium are the areas that we provide for fans at all our home matches and parking there is free with official security provided," he added.
"We plead with attending fans to not follow any instructions from unofficial 'car guards' who order them to park next to people's yards or in the streets as Metro Police will remove their cars from these areas.
"Police will also be on high alert for fans carrying what they perceive as dangerous weapons and those who will be smoking dagga. We further request that fans refrain from arriving under the influence of alcohol. Smoking of cigarettes is also prohibited in the seating areas inside the stadium; there are designated smoking areas at the stadium.?
Kick-off is set at 7.30pm, with a valuable three points on the table.
