Volkswagen South Africa recommitted itself to Moroka Swallows with the announcement of an improved three-year deal.
The announcement was made by Matt Gennrich, General Manager of Volkswagen Sales and Marketing, at a prestigious and glamorous launch of the new Moroka Swallows, held at Capello in Kliptown, Soweto on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.
Media personalities, fashion and marketing gurus and the Swallows family attended the event.
At the announcement, Moroka Swallows also unveiled its new and improved logo.
Since the start of the Volkswagen sponsorship in August 2005, Moroka Swallows and Volkswagen have pooled their resources in the quest to keep one of South Africa’s oldest and most recognised soccer brands on top of its game.
Moroka Swallows CEO Leon Prins said: "We were absolutely thrilled when Volkswagen came on board three years ago and we are extremely proud that Volkswagen has decided to renew their title sponsorship until 2011!"
He added: "The relationship between the team and Volkswagen has grown from strength to strength and as a result, the club has been able to continuously strive for improvement, both on and off the field.
"Volkswagen South Africa has shown confidence and trust in Moroka Swallows to utilise the club as a vehicle to leverage their brand. There is no better association than partnering the people's car with the people's game."
Moroka Swallows seek to soar to greater heights once again. The club has announced that it will leave no stone unturned to bring back its days of glory and glamour and thus have extensively refurbished their nest.
Going forward, the club will embrace an image of being youthful, innovative, glamorous, funky and fashionable by bringing exciting new elements into the mix.
