Swallows Appoint Rosslee as New Head Coach

Moroka Swallows are delighted to today announce the appointment of Craig Rosslee as the club's new head coach.

After previous head coach, Fani Madida decided to step aside, the club decided to wait until this two week international break to confirm the appointment of a new head coach.

Rosslee enjoyed a very good playing career with Cape Town Spurs, Hellenic and Santos. He made his Cape Town Spurs debut 1990 and finally retired as a player in 2004 due to numerous injuries. Rosslee was regarded as an excellent defender, but never received international recognition.

After working with the Ajax Academy and heading up the Youth Academy, he was appointed as head coach of the PSL team in 2007.

In his first season in charge, he led the side to 2nd place in the PSL, with only a final day draw away to Golden Arrows denying Ajax the league title.

In his second season with the Urban Warriors, he again delivered an outstanding season considering the side lost numerous excellent players prior to the season starting in Nathan Paulse, Russel Mwafulirwa, Eyong Enoh, Bryce Moon, Daylon Claasen, Terror Fanteni and Dominic Isaacs. The side finished 7th in the PSL and Rosslee's side were crowned 2008 Telkom Knockout champions after a 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates.

He departed the club at the end of that season, and later took up an assistant position alongside Ruud Krol at Orlando Pirates. He spent two seasons at Pirates and in his second season, the club won an historic treble - winning the ABSA PSL, the Nedbank Cup and the MTN8.

He later managed Mpumalanga Black Aces. His most recent job was at Amazulu, who he managed for the first 7 games of the current PSL season without managing to pick up a win.

Everyone at Swallows is delighted to welcome a coach of Rosslee's experience and winning record as the club looks to move away from the relegation places between now and the end of the season.

Rosslee's first game in charge will be a crucial encounter away to Chippa United on 15 April at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
