Preview - Cosmos v Celtic
Jomo Cosmos will look to halt their stuttering form when they host Bloemfontein Celtic in an Absa Premiership match at the Mehlareng Stadium on Wednesday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).
Jomo Sono's team have won just one of their last nine league matches and lie in a lowly 14th place ahead of Celtic's visit. Their listless, uninspired performance away to Golden Arrows saw them slump to a 0-2 defeat less than a week after their promising 3-1 victory over Moroka Swallows.
At least 'Ezenkosi' will be able to take some comfort from the hard-working performance of Ugandan forward Geoffrey Massa - who was their best player against Arrows - and the fact that they will have home ground advantage for the first time in nearly a month.
Celtic though, will also be hoping to arrest a poor run of form that has seen them pick up just five out of the last 21 points on offer and slide to seventh on the Absa Premiership table.
Khabo Zondo's (pictured) team were the early pace setters but they are in need of three points in midweek if they are to get themselves within striking distance of the leaders.
Celtic have slipped to seventh on the league table and 'Siwelele' striker Carlo Scott told the official Celtic website that this is a crucial stage for the team, as a loss or a win would make a huge difference to the side's position on the log.
"We have not played to the best of our abilities for the past couple of games but as professionals we have to look past the unfortunate results," added Scott. "We have to pull up our socks and hopefully get some wins in the next couple of games."
