Swallows scoop PSL Award

Moroka Swallows have been voted the Castle Premiership's Perfectly Balanced Team of the Season at the league's annual Awards Ceremony held in Johannesburg on Tuesday evening.

The Gavin Hunt-coached side pipped league winners Mamelodi Sundowns and runners-up Orlando Pirates to clinch the coveted award, after the 'Beautiful Birds' finished fourth on the Castle Premiership log - displaying a new-found level of consistency along the way.

The recognition is a well-deserved reward for a team that has, for most of the season, suffered an unfortunate spate of injuries.

Swallows' highly-talented striker Mame Niang also walked away with the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot Award, after scoring 14 league goals during the season.
