African Women's Championship draw


The South African national women's team, 'Banyana Banyana', have been pitted against old archrivals Nigeria in Group A of this year's African Women's Championship (AWC).

The AWC draw was conducted at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Nigeria earlier this week.

The championship will take place in Warri from Saturday, October 28 to Saturday, November 11, 2006.

Nigeria are the defending champions, having won the competition back in 2004. They will be seeded first this year in Group A and also overall, with Cameroon seeded second, but top of Group B.
