Maritzburg stun Pirates

Orlando Pirates lost 1-0 to Maritzburg United in a Castle Premiership battle at Chartsworth Stadium on Wednesday evening.
It was a hotly contested tussle with Pirates scoring two disallowed goals in both halves.In the second minute Lucas Thwala found the net but the referee disallowed it after there was some shoving and pushing in the box.
Siyabonga Siphika's free-kick fell onto striker Sandile Ndlovu few minutes later, but failed to score an opener for the homeside.
Diminitive Lynch Pule's lame attempt in the 23rd minute was dealt with easily by goalkeeper Avril Phali.Thwala again made an attack and swung in a cross but Isaac Chansa's attempt hit the side netting.
Ndlovu, who had a bad game, was unmarked in the box but failed to score when he received a pass from Michael Mogaladi.His poor shot was easily saved by Phali.
Pirates new recruit, Paulos Masehe, was dispossed by Pule,who connected in a fast move with Omotyo Ibrahim and Bradley August into the Pirates box, laid a pass onto Siphika whose powerful shot went into the net giving the hosts a well-deserved lead.
In the 69th minute, Chansa almost levelled matters for his team when his goal bound ball was cleared off the line by August.
Edward Malinga's 89th joy was cut short when the referee, disallowed what seemed like a legitimate goal.Malinga had headed in a ball into the back of the net after a corner-kick by Mpho Rashete.
The Kosta Papic led soldiers battled it out until the last minute to secure the maximum points.
