That is how the new Brand Manager of Moroka Swallows, Siyabonga 'Siya' Sangweni, describes his new exciting and exhilarating endeavour of taking the Swallows brand to new heights.
Steering the Swallows brand to the face of the South African youth market is the brief of the day which does not startle Sangweni - instead it excites this versatile, passionate and enthusiastic Soweto-born chap who as a youngster, like many boys his age, aspired to be a footballer player himself.
Now, as an adult, Sangweni will not be literally playing a game of football, but he will be constantly aiming to win the hearts and minds of the South African youth.
With a rock-solid and rich background in Marketing and Advertising, winning this game will not be impossible for Sangweni, with a Higher Diploma from the AAA School of Advertising; he understands that successful brands do not just deliver, but they fulfill a promise.
Sangweni comes equipped to deal with the never-ending demands of 'sportumers' who seek to find an enhanced experience of not only watching football, but of being part of a living and winning team - that is the brand's promise.
"People who consume sports always want involvement, excitement, attachment (all in one experience) and I am pleased because all my working life. I have been about listening to people and delivering to them an enhanced package which meet their needs and I promise to deliver this experience," Sangweni told the official Swallows website.
Having worked for big companies such as Roche and Lowe-Bull, Sangweni is not new to the principle of engaging and interacting with the public.
In 1999, he joined an Advertising Production company and in 2006 he was fully involved with the kulula.com strategy of attracting a young and emerging market to the Kulula brand.
Sangweni acknowledges that it is thanks to education that he is where he is today. Education is a key to success and the process is never-ending.
He is quick to remind young people that, as they search for their talents, that they need to equip themselves with the proper skills that will secure exciting futures.
Busy as he is with his new position, Sangweni is currently studying with UNISA, to ensure that his growth does not stagnate.
He has a huge challenge ahead, but this young professional has an attitude of a bird and nothing will stand in his way when the going gets tough. He spreads his wings and soars to the skies, and this is what he aims to do with the Moroka Swallows!
