'Dube Birds' fly past Warriors

Moroka Swallows are through to the next round of the Nedbank Cup after beating African Warriors 1-0 at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Wednesday night.

Swallows striker Sandile Ndlovu scored the only goal of the game and his coach Ian Gorowa was delighted with the result despite the narrow victory.

"A win is a win, and we're through to the next round," an elated Gorowa said. "It was a tough game but the boys held on for a well deserved victory. We could have scored two or three more but it seemed
the strikers were not in the mood and we missed a few.
"However, I am happy as Warriors came at us and we defended well and held on for this win."

Swallows have home ground advantage in their next Nedbank Cup fixture against Santos.

"I don't want to think about that game now, we have Jomo Cosmos on Sunday so that's what we preparing for," concluded Gorowa.

Swallows travel to Orkney on Sunday to face Jomo Cosmos in an Absa Premiership clash.
