Moroka Swallows will be looking to do a league double over Kaizer Chiefs when the two teams meet in a Soweto derby at Olympia Park Stadium on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).
The 'Beautiful Birds' beat 'Amakhosi' 2-1 in Durban in the first round of the 2007/08 Absa Premiership and they will be looking to register a clean sweep against their Soweto neighbours.
"We beat Chiefs in their own backyard and we can do it again, especially now that we are playing at home," Swallows defender Patrick Mabedi told the club's official website.
He added: "We need the three points in order to close the gap on the log leaders, but we know that it won't be easy against Chiefs, who are also in desperate need of points that will move them up the log.
"But we need the points more than them because we still have a chance of winning the league title, while they are just playing to finish in the top eight."
Mabedi also revealed that coach Ian Gorowa will have a difficult time choosing his starting eleven because all the players have shown their eagerness to play in this match.
"Everyone did well at training this week and all the players looked sharp. We all know though that the coach can only choose 11 players to start the match, but that has not stopped any of us trying to convince him that we are all ready for the derby.
"I would love to play against my former team, but the coach will have the final say though as to whether I play or not. But even if I don't play, I will be 100 per cent behind the team," concluded Mabedi.
