'In the Hotseat' with Brent Geyer

In the latest 'In the Hotseat' feature on the official Moroka Swallows website, morokaswallows.co.za's Ryan Hoffmann spoke to defender Brent Geyer, who joined the 'Birds' in the January transfer window.

It's Brent 'In the Hotseat'!

Ryan Hoffmann (RH): Hi, Brent thanks for making some time to chat to us.

Brent Geyer (BG): Hi. No problem, thanks for inviting me.

RH: How have you enjoyed your stay at Swallows thus far?

BG: "I'm really enjoying myself here. The short time that I've been here has been very fruitful for me, because I've been learning so much. The guys have helped me settle in here and everybody has been so helpful and the team here is really professional which has helped as well."

KN: Do you have any particular player that you look up to at Swallows?

BG: "It has really been great to be around so many experienced players and it's difficult to single out anyone in particular because they have all been so supportive. I spend alot of time with Bevan (Fransman) and Mark (Haskins) off the field though, but in general all the guys have been really welcoming."

RH: And coach Ian Gorowa, what's it like to work with him?

BG: "He is a very professional guy. I enjoy working with him a lot and I think it is the same for the rest of the players. His methods have benefitted me since I arrived and I am happy here."

RH: How hard has it been for you to make an impression and establish yourself in the team?

BG: "It was a challenge as I had to adapt to a new city and try to break into the team as well. I have lived in Cape Town all my life and it was a major adjustment moving up here. However, as a footballer it doesn't matter where you are, you have to work hard at your game or you won't succeed. I think I've been doing that and now this is starting to show."

RH: And finally, do you have any messages for the 'Birds' supporters?

BG: "I'd just like to thank them for all the support; it's been a huge boost for us. Obviously the fans are important and with their backing I'm sure we can reach our goal of finishing in the top four at the end of the season."
