'Dube Birds' defender Brent Geyer will miss the final two games of Moroka Swallows' league season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in a practice match last week.
Geyer had to be stretchered off the field after an opposition player fell across his left knee during the friendly match against Platinum Stars.
Team physician Dr Ephraim Nematswerani confirmed that the player would be undergoing surgery and is likely to miss the start of the 2008/09 season as he will be out of action for at least seven months.
The Cape Town-born player suffered a similar injury to his right knee last year.
